locations for the preliminary task

The locations for the preliminary tasks

Before we started filming, my group and i, had to decide on the locations for the different scenes. As our film is about a character bullying someone about their homework, we decided it should be in a school. Below are the pictures for where we are filming and why we chose them.

The pictures are in order of our film. First we will have a shot of the corridor showing the character walking down it, this is to establish the start of film, and give an idea of where the character is going.
On the next shot the character will go through the door and there will be match on action of the character coming through it. This is a good way to test our continuity skills.

Next will be a clip of the the character going up the stairs. Again this gives an idea of where the character is going.

There will be clip of the character from above, going up the stairs.

On the next clip the character will be seen going through this door and this is where the main action is going to take place. The shot of the door will show this to the audience.

The cupboard is where the main character is going to be seen bullying the other student. We chose this cupboard because it ads a dramatic feeling to the scene, and we could use the lack of light for some good       shots.

For the last scene we see the main character walking away from the cupboard down the corridor, using a Tilt shot/ Canted angle to again add a dramatic feeling to the scene and highlight what has just happened             between the two characters.

Storyboarding for the preliminary task.

Storyboarding for the preliminary task.

As part of the preliminary task we had to, before we started filming, think about how we were going to set about filming it. For example the location of the filming, the different shots used and the dialogue in it. To do this we were given a storyboard to plan, clip by clip everything we was going to do. Storyboards are a good to do before filming, as it means that if everything is organised before the filming process, less mistakes are made as everything is already planned out on paper, for you to see. Below this is the pictures of our finished storyboards to show you what we did.
